Once upon a time in the middle of a severe ice storm, a gorgeous little baby girl made her entrance into the world. Things happened, people came in and out of her life and now she’s a grown-up trying to forge her path in this social world we live in.
Okay – I suppose that’s a bit broad. To be completely honest, I hate writing about myself as much as any of you. We stare at the screen trying to come up with the right words. We want to be funny, informative and concise. How many of you have actually managed to strike the perfect balance? I freely admit that I have yet to figure this one out, so I’m not even going to try.
I’ve lived a lot of life, been through a lot of hell and come out of each instance stronger and wiser. There have been SO many blessings in my lifetime… I have amazing daughters and granddaughters (and a grandson coming in February, 2012!!), an awesome family, fantastic friends and the best significant other anyone could ever ask for (finally!).
My work life has run the gamut from bookkeeping and office management to social media engagement and blogging. I’ve helped to organize major conferences, networked as a guest at events and trade shows, spent time in the trenches as a ghost writer and spent so much time playing on social sites that it should be illegal. I’m passionate about community – helping people learn the value of making connections and how to keep them strong.
I began doing community management back in 1999 on a large forums-based website and a career bloomed from there. After spending four years working with Chris Pirillo managing his communities, writing for his blog and helping out on his social streams, I spent time working with Robert Scoble helping to manage his online presence. I’ve been fortunate to meet many wonderful people, and have shared insights with my friends Chris Brogan, CC Chapman, Brian Solis and even Gary Vaynerchuck. The connections I have made as a result of my work continue to teach and guide me each and every day.
If there’s anything else you want to know, you have but to ask. I’m quite public about most aspects of myself and would be happy to answer specific questions.
Are you ready to work together?
All of those amd so much more, from what I know of you
